Old Chain of Rocks Bridge (IL-MO)

Two Pics (view from the Illinois side) of the old Chain of Rocks Bridge (now only opened for cyclists and pedestrians) over the Mississippi River. This is the most famous bridge on Route 66. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

One could argue that the Chain of Rocks Bridge is not the most well-known on 66. The Colorado Street - or "Suicide" - Bridge is equally well-known, is older, and is still in use. And Los Angeles County also boasts the oldest in-use bridge anywhere on 66, and it is NOT the "Suicide" Bridge.
