Of course, everyone knows that the original western terminus of the highway was actually at 7th and Broadway in the heart of Los Angeles' theater district, and that the later extension (effective January 1, 1936) was actually to Lincoln and Olympic in Santa Monica, and not actually along Santa Monica Boulevard to Ocean. But I will grant that the "spiritual" terminus of the highway was here at the plaque.
The good question, though, is if anyone knows the western terminus from 1965 until 1985? (Hint: There are two different correct answers.)
